THE PENINSULA SHANGHAI

SHANGHAI, CHINA

GFA: 92,000 SM

KEYS: 235

SERVICE APARTMENT: 40

Category: hospitality

Completion date: 2009

Built along the frontage of the famous historical Bund in Shanghai China, the Peninsula Shanghai Hotel was  designed in an Art Deco style consistent with that of the Bund’s dominant architecture style during the 1920s and 1930s, and made use of stone from the same quarries used for buildings of that period along the Bund.  An urban oasis among the hustle and bustle of Shanghai, the 15-story luxury hotel welcomes guests through a serene motor court off the main road and accented with a central water feature and garden.  The hotel benefits from the English gardens of the former British consulate next door and holds 235 keys with spectacular views of the Huangpu River and the Pudong Financial District. Hotel amenities include a stunning rooftop restaurant and bar, an indoor infinity pool and its connecting terrace offering spectacular views of the English gardens and a heliport on the rooftop. The 13-story service apartment building adjacent to the hotel holds approximately 40 units with its own amenities, including an indoor pool.
